We are pleased to announce the release of DB Energy’s latest report, “Energy Efficiency and Energy Security. Technologies for Industry.” This comprehensive study demonstrates how specific technologies can tangibly strengthen energy independence, operational stability, and the competitiveness of large and medium-sized industrial enterprises.
The year 2025 brought several interesting projects, new partnerships, and continued support for companies in achieving cost-effective decarbonisation. DB Energy has been operating since 2009. Since then, we have carried out over 1,500 energy efficiency audits and developed projects with a total value exceeding PLN 5.63 billion. Our activities have helped reduce energy consumption at our clients’ facilities by more than 9.8 TWh per year, resulting in annual savings of over PLN 2.2 billion. In 2025, we signed several key agreements, established new partnerships, published our industry report, and delivered many other important initiatives.

Cogeneration (CHP – Combined Heat and Power) is one of the more compelling technologies for improving energy efficiency in industrial facilities. The simultaneous production of electricity and heat makes it possible to significantly reduce primary energy losses, lower operating costs, and decrease CO₂ emissions. However, the technology itself does not guarantee success – proper preparation, a reliable analysis of the energy consumption profile, and a well-informed selection of capacity and operating mode are crucial. Cogeneration can substantially improve a plant’s energy efficiency and reduce costs, including capacity charges, provided it is treated as part of a broader energy management strategy rather than as a standalone technological investment.
General contracting is one of the core investment delivery models used by industrial companies. In recent years, its importance has increased significantly, particularly in projects related to energy efficiency, emission reduction, and the modernization of technical infrastructure in production facilities. They combine flexibility, independence, and efficiency, while significantly reducing the risk of production downtime. Although their implementation requires capital expenditure and a thorough technical analysis, microgrids can prove more cost-effective than relying solely on electricity from the grid - especially in sectors with high and stable energy demand.
