PLN 20 million of annual savings - DB Energy retrofits the CHP plant for Schumacher Packaging in Myszków

DB Energy's largest contract

The retrofit of a combined heat and power plant for Schumacher Packaging, the global manufacturer of paper packaging, is currently the largest project in DB Energy's portfolio. The first stage of the project - a complete overhaul of a boiler - is nearing completion. As indicated in the signed annex, DB Energy will soon continue with the retrofit of another boiler. The total value of the investment amounts to PLN 35.1 million. Ultimately, thanks to the implemented solutions, the client will achieve annual savings of approx. PLN 20 million. Moreover, Schumacher Packaging in Myszków may expect an additional, one-off income provided by white certificates, their value comes to approx. PLN 11.5 million.

- The comprehensive retrofit of the heat and power plant at the Schumacher Packaging plant in Myszków is the largest project in our portfolio. The aim of the project is to improve the production efficiency and reduce gas emissions, so that, after 2024, the plant will be able to meet all applicable environmental standards - Piotr Danielski, Vice President and CTO of DB Energy said.

DB Energy's growing position in the energy efficiency investment market

- According to the strategy, DB Energy has been implementing more and more projects in the General Contractor model. They are developed in the market of energy efficiency for the industry. We are accelerating the pace of project acquisition as well as significantly increasing their scale. Thus, it results in our position in the branch and the shareholder value. The value of investments that the company is currently implementing in the ESCO and General Contractor model amounts to nearly PLN 70 million. And still we observe opportunities to acquire even more projects in the future. - Krzysztof Piontek, CEO of DB Energy said.

DB Energy implements the project for the largest manufacturers of corrugated and solid board packaging in Europe. It is performed in the General Contractor model and becomes another significant undertaking of DB Energy the market for energy efficiency in industry. Let us recall that in the autumn of 2020 the company initiated an investment for a malting plant Soufflet Polska sp. z o.o., its value will amount to PLN 29 million.
